Q: Why are you running as a “ticket”? |

A: (Vickie) Bobbie and I feel that, together, we bring a set of skills that will move cats, the cat fancy, and TICA upward in visibility and importance. Bobbie and I agree that she is the ABC person on our team. Bobbie brings an incredible knowledge of genetics and an understanding of how our new breeds develop. After all, TICA is the world’s largest genetically-based registry of cats. With that comes a certain complexity in registering cats, especially the newer and developing breeds. We both feel that it is most important that TICA produce an accurate pedigree—after all, that is TICA’s business! This aspect of TICA’s business is Bobbie’s passion and expertise and will receive her attention. Likewise, we agree that I’m the 1,2,3 person on our team. With my background in accounting, finance and budget, I’m very comfortable dealing with the “numbers.” My years of management experience also make me comfortable in organizing our staff and volunteers to make the changes or improvements that the organization needs to carry out its vision of the future. Finally, and speaking of “the future,” my passion is looking, not at where TICA is going, but where we want to go. I look forward to listening to our membership in order to create our future. I am committed to making the tough decisions and finding and or making those opportunities that ensure TICA’s next 25 years (and more). |
